Sewing is not the girls favorite activity so I was worried about having another sewing activity but they loved it.
I demonstrated the basic blanket stitch to all. Then sent them off to work. I showed an adapted stitch where instead of wrapping both strings behind, they split the two strings and come up between them. It's a fun twist for those that like a little harder.
Then for those that don't like to sew I showed them how to just do a running stitch. One young girl made bigger stitches so I just had her turn and go in-between stitches and make another row. It worked out great.
We filled them with laundry smelly beads. It turned out to be a great project. I was grateful for my two graduated Primary girls that help sometimes though.
